Every year, I write a post on Facebook on January 1st to look back on my yearly reads. I check stats, list my favorites, and then tag the friends who request it. Since I'm working on that, I decided to add it here as well.
This year I read 86 books. This was short of my initial goal of 100, but more than my "I went back to work" goal of 80. This meant over 28,000 pages and an average of about 328 pages per book. 5 were book tours, a number were NetGalley ARCs, 2 were other preview books sent to me, and a large number were with my students. Three were audio which is definitely high for me (I'm still not an audio person).
So what were my favorite reads? In no particular order but calendar:
- Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese
- The One Hundred Years of Leni and Margot by Marianne Cronin
- Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau
- Book Lovers by Emily Henry
- The It Girls by Karen Harper
- Cradles of the Reich by Jennifer Coburn
- Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto
- The Leftover Woman by Jean Kwok
- I'll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara
- Caroline by Sarah Miller
- The Forgotten Bookshop in Paris by Daisy Wood
