A friend recommended this one for our December book club read, as it was written by a friend of a friend of hers. We all had a difficult time finding So, This is Christmas in time for our December meeting, so we changed titles for December and read this one in January instead.
Finley has managed to escape her little Oklahoma town of Christmas for boarding school on the East Coast. Heading home for the holidays, she finds her best friend dating her ex-boyfriend, her parents having marriage trouble, and still having to work at her grandmother's inn. Things take a turn when one of her classmates shows up in town for a dream American Christmas, thanks to Finley's creative descriptions of Christmas, Oklahoma, and it's up to her to figure out how to make it all happen.
It definitely has the vibe of one of the Hallmark Christmas movies my 19 year old daughter adores, and a bit of research led me to find out that Tracy Andreen is a Hallmark writer. It would not surprise me in the least to see this one be turned into a cute Christmas movie in the next couple of years.
